About the Angelo Vayas Room
The Angelo Vayas studio is our large 550 sq ft private golf simulator room named after one of Maplewood's most well loved, generous, family oriented and inspiring residents.
Founder and owner of the Village Trattoria restaurant in Maplewood which expanded to locations in Summit and South Orange, nothing gave Angelo more pleasure in life than quality time with his family and giving back to his community. He had a heart of gold and remained positive, courageous and without regrets all the way up to the day brain cancer took him away from us on May 24, 2015. Angelo was a talented athlete and fierce competitor who loved to play golf. Those who knew Angelo will continue to feel his presence and positive spirit as we enjoy stories and laughs of times shared with him.
Are children permitted to play at Greens?
Minors can play but only when supervised by an adult. Golf is inherently a dangerous activity for young players due to golf club accidents. Parents are responsible for the safety of minors they accompany.
Can I bring my own clubs? Do you have clubs I can use?
Yes, by all means bring your own clubs! But we also provide complimentary use of our own golf clubs to use – lefties, righties, men, women and kids sizes - to make it easy for those who arrive without clubs. No extra charge!
Can I have a lesson at Greens with my own instructor?
Yes. Schedule your own tee time and have your own outside instructor accompany you to provide your lesson. We provide a list of instructors in the lessons link on our website.
Do I use your golf balls and tees or can I bring my own?
No. Players must use our provided regulation store golf balls ( quality 3 layer soft ) in order for the system to accurately compute ball speed, spin axis, backspin rpm, and side spin rpm. In addition, we supply adjustable tees that work best with our turf. Therefore, no outside tees or balls needed.
Can I wear outdoor footwear in the facility?
As long as your shoes are sneakers and they are clean. Players are encouraged to bring their golf shoes but can play using sneakers as long as they are clean. Members should keep a pair of golf shoes in their spare bag of clubs they store at Greens so that they can replicate their true playing experience.
Can I bring my own food and beverage into the facility?
YES. Our golf studios each have a refrigerator to hold your own beverages. Feel free to bring your own food and beverages.
Do you have a selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages available?
We are a BYOB facility permitted for those 21 yrs. and older.
Refrigerators are provided for each simulator studio.
How long does it take to play 18 holes in your simulators?
We say it takes approximately 1 hour for an individual player to play 18 holes. So, if you have more than one player you would probably want to book an additional hour for each player in your group. For example, a foursome would normally book four hours of playing time.
How far in advance should I book a tee time?
Just like at your favorite golf course, we tend to be busier evenings and weekends. Consequently, we do recommend booking your tee time 5-7 days in advance in order to secure a tee time.
How do you charge for a round of golf?
We charge an hourly rate per simulator, not per player. Multiple players (TOTAL 8 PLAYERS) can share the room costs. Please use the Coupon codes provided on the booking page for discounts.
How many golfers can play at the same time?
Parties of 8 have enjoyed a "scramble" (best ball) format with two 4 player teams.
That is the very maximum amount of names that the Aboutgolf system accepts.
Do I pay for the amount of time that I reserved, or only the time that I use?
Players will be charged for the time that was reserved. In order to not be charged you must call at least 24 hours in advance to change or cancel your reservation.
Can I cancel my booking and receive a full refund?
In order to receive a refund, you need to cancel 24 hours in advance of your booking time. We are sorry for any loss incurred by short notice cancellations but we also lose money on short notice.
Is the facility available for full facility rentals?
Our faciltiy is ideal for special events up to 10 people to enjoy an inimate party in one simulator space. Larger grouip parties are not ideal because our two golf sims are apart and down the hall from eachother. Doesn't work well to split up the party.
Do I need to arrive a few minutes early?
Players can arrive early for extra free time but no earlier than 10 minutes before a scheduled tee time to avoid mingling or crossing paths with departing golfers. Arriving 10 minutes early provides you sufficient time to turn on the golf system and warm up in advance of your booked tee time. We aim for all players to be satisfied with getting their rounds started on time.
